If These Walls Could Talk 2

Searching thru a cinematic database to find the top 5 must see lesbian films can be a fun, yet daunting task. There have been many wonderful lesbian - themed films that have been created; creating a list of the top 5 certainly has not been easy. One of the must see lesbian films that I highly recommend is If These Walls Could Talk 2.

If These Walls Could Talk 2 is based on a set of vignettes throughout the movie. The premise of the movie is that there is one house that has seen the likes of various lesbians and their living situations. In the first segment, two partners, Edith (played by Vanessa Redgrave) and Abbey (Marian Seldes) go about their every day lives in 1961. When Abbey takes a fall off of a

I Think I Do

Think I Do is a wonderfully wacky and sexy gay screwball comedy from the maker of Pool Days one of the many brilliant short films in Boys Life.

The screwball “who will marry who” antics of The Philadelphia Story are given a gay update in this deliriously romantic comedy. Bob (Alexis Arquette - more fabulous in drag than out!) and Brendan (Christian Maelen) are college roommates whose close friendship (and Bobâ€TMs mad crush) is chilled after Bob is rejected by Brendan. Five years later, they and their college chums all reunite for the marriage of one of their former classmates. Among those in attendance

When Love Comes

L’il ol’ me was just a bit tired of all those French films (not to mention The Quintology of Terror) When Love Comes is a great little film out of New Zealand (Love those accents!) directed by Garth Maxwell who was also responsible for “Jack Be Nimble.” When Love Comes is an intensely interwoven story of a pair of lesbian rockers, drummer Fig (Nancy Brunning) and singer Sally (Sophia Hawthorne), a former pop diva named Katie Keane (Rena Owen), an irresistibly cute but emotionally strung out songwriter, Mark (Dean O’Gorman), and insanely gorgeous Stephen (Simon Prast) as Mark’s frustrated boyfriend and long-time

Eating Out

Eating Out is a screwball comedy harkens back to the days of Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn (who may be turning over in their respective graves with that comparison) as a hunky straight guy pretends he’s gay to get a date with a woman who only likes to hang out with gay men.

Caleb, played by hunky Scott Lunsford, just wants to meet a nice girl now after a bad experience. He goes to a party with his gay best friend and roommate Kyle (the adorable Jim Verraros of “American Idol” fame.) and spies Gwen (Emily Brook Hands) as she throws her latest gay boyfriend out of the

A Touch of Pink

Another very similarly-themed (Wedding Baquet) movie that Ah enjoyed is the much-more-recent Touch of Pink, Alim (Jimi Mistry) is a South Asian-Canadian gay man living in London with his handsome boyfriend Giles (Kristen Holden-Reid).

All hell breaks loose for the cross-cultural couple when Alim’s traditional mother Nuru (a scenery-chewing Suleka Mathews) announces a visit, setting off a frantic Wedding Banquet-esque series of events, from hiding all gay paraphernalia to having Giles’ sister pose as Alim’s fiance.

Wedding Banquet

In reality, coming out to y’alls family is scary and rife with Drama (Yes. “Drama” with a capital “D!”). In the movies, this event is more often filled with mis-understandings and laughter … especially when the family is completely in the dark. Me? My Momma always knew and Papa simply said nothing … Ah was so ready for nasty drama that it was a total let down! I knew Ah should wore mah best dress!

Ah think mah favorite gay movie of ALL TIME must be The Wedding Banquet - as much for it’s handsome lead actors Winston Chao (ooooooo … Ah have such a thing for Asian boys!) and Mitchell Lichtenstein

The Fluffer

The Fluffer is a gripping and sexy fictional drama that manages to expose the nasty underbelly of the gay porn business while illustrating its allure. Ta thought that she’d certainly be titillated bah the purported underbelly of porn. Hah!

The Fluffer is Wash West’s first non-adult film and a tale of obsession. Sean McGinnis (Michael Cunio) has been renting the classics and by error gets Citizen Cum instead of Citizen Kane. So starts a tale of sexual obsession that changes the course of Sean’s life and brings great drama to the screen. The star of Citizen Cum is Johnny Rebel (Scott Gurney) a hot “gay for pay” porn

Coffee Date

Mah oh Mah. Ta’s been so busy spreading FABULOSITY ’round the world that when Ah finally had a moment to relax with mah mint julep and catch up on some movie watchin’ Ah didn’t realize Ah’d be in for such a hilarious treat!

Todd (played by Jonathan Bray), who is straight, ends up on a blind date with a gay man, Kelly (the stunningly handsome and oh-so-cute, Wilson Cruz) - the result of a practical joke played by his brother, Barry (Jonathan Silverman).

To Todd’s surprise, he and Kelly strike up a friendship. They decide to take revenge on Barry by reversing the joke. After their “date,” the

Steam

“Steam” is a slow, sensuous meandering journey both in its cinematic pacing and in the lead character, Francesco’s, coming out, coming home story. For a movie about hamam’s - Turkish steam baths - there’s a paucity of nudity!

Francesco (played by the GEORGEOUS Alessandro Gassman) and his wife Marta ( Francesca D’Aloja) run a successful interior design firm in Rome. But their marriage is on the rocks, with Marta, feeling neglected, secretly carrying on an affair with their mutual business

Broadway Damage

Broadway Damage is coming out for a more sunny, cute-boys-in-love romanticism (Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss, I Think I Do) is this sugary, determinedly optimistic love story. An, kin Ta tell you that she just cried and cried … ruined my fabulous mascara an made mah dreamy eyes all puffy. ‘Where’s those damnable cucumber slices, boy?!?!?’ uhm, sorry. Despite mah tragedy, ah loved every minute of this movie with its joyful script and oh-so-fabulous Mara Hobel. Her outfits stole the show … the glasses, the gowns, the glamour!

At times funny, and occasionally charming in its innocence, the film can be a bit much for those jaded by relationships and toughened
